The term “parallax” refers to the apparent movement of objects when viewed from different positions. The everyday example of this is seen driving on the highway– when you look out the window, electrical poles near the road seem to zoom past, while trees in the distance appear to slowly drift by. Parallax Automotive came from a race team that the owner, Sam, was part of. Parallax Racing was based out of Iowa and participated in the Pirelli World Challenge and SCCA racing with a 2014 Honda Accord V6. They would travel all over the country racing at various tracks including Road America and Virginia International Raceway. When Steve, the owner of Parallax Racing, lost his life in October of 2021 Sam made the decision to name his new business after the team, thus Parallax Automotive was born. Steve was a big influence on many people over his lifetime and continues to influence those he left behind. It is with great honor that we use the Parallax name as we endeavor to live up to Steve’s legacy.
