Overview
Arizona Combat Sports is one of the longest-running martial arts gyms in the Phoenix area, located at 1425 W 14th St in Tempe, Arizona, just minutes from Arizona State University and Tempe Town Lake. Founded more than 25 years ago by Trevor Lally and his brother, the gym is led today by Trevor Lally alongside partners Trevor Smith and Steve Rosenberg, and has trained thousands of students, from first-timers to UFC contenders and major tournament winners.
The gym's mission is simple: build better athletes and build better people. Its motto, "One year here equals five anywhere else," reflects a training environment built on high-level coaching, consistency, and a zero-ego, team-first culture.
Programs include Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Muay Thai and kickboxing, boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in both Gi and No-Gi, submission wrestling, and wrestling. Kids martial arts classes build focus, discipline, and confidence in a structured, age-appropriate setting, while women's-only classes offer a supportive environment for building strength and self-defense skills. Competitive athletes can join the fight team for full fight camp preparation, and private one-on-one coaching is available for faster progress.
Coaches are black belts, champions, and lifelong martial artists who still compete or have competed at a high level. Classes run daily for all levels, and the large facility features dedicated striking, grappling, and strength zones, high-performance mats, locker rooms, and a waiting area for families.
Arizona Combat Sports serves local residents, ASU students, families, first responders, military personnel, and competitive athletes from Tempe, Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, and Scottsdale. New students can try their first class free.
